Classes run from February 6-10, 2012 and spaces are limited so sign up now!
The “Masters Level App-V Training Class” is a five day class run by an expert trained instructor using both presentation and hands-on experience for participants. This class covers complete coverage of the Microsoft App-V product, including all variations of deployment. Although the class covers deep details of the product, and attracts students with considerable prior experience, a novice student with no prior experience is accommodated and can become “an expert” during the week. The class is broken into three major parts: Concepts, Administration, and Sequencing.
The Concepts portion of the class covers the basic concepts of the App-V technology and provides the System Architect all of the knowledge necessary to enable him/her to select and plan a deployment architecture for their Virtual Applications appropriate for their environment. We cover all aspects of the three major architectures used with App-V.
The Administration portion of the class covers aspects required of those to plan, install, and maintain the back-end infrastructure for App-V. Both Full App-V Server and the App-V portion of SCCM are covered.
The Sequencing portion is the heart of the class. Using a combination of hands on prepared labs, augmented by unscripted sequencing using applications supplied by the students, the student leaves with a comfort on how to address the worst enterprise applications out there.
The current curriculum is based on Microsoft App-V version 4.6 SP1. Students wanting to work with older versions of App-V can be accommodated upon request.
Each student will receive our GridMasterTraining Companion Guides to the class. The Concept and Administrations Guides provide additional detail that will be of interest in back-end component deployments and walk-throughs of the installation and day-to-day working examples. The Sequencing Companion Guide includes background information and all of the prepared labs. Together these guides are now over 700 pages. In addition, each student will receive a copy of “The Client Book”, written by Tim Mangan and Kevin Kaminski. These materials are copyrighted and may only be used by elite trainers certified by GridMasterTraining.
Due to the hands on nature of the class, especially the unscripted sequencing portions, we normally limit the class to 10 students. Classes normally run 9-5 with a lunch break each day. Formal class will complete early on Friday to accommodate those with travel plans home; however everyone is encouraged to stay working additional applications or covering specific issues that they have.
